I can’t believe it’s been nearly five months since my last post. Time flies, and we are now officially less than 90 days out from our grand vacation!
Before that journey begins, Renee and I are celebrating our 4th anniversary in early October with—you guessed it—a quick cruise. This time around, we’re boarding Norwegian Cruise Line’s Getaway. It marks our first time sailing on a mainline ship, so we’re curious to see how the experience compares. To be completely honest, we aren’t focused on the port stops; we’re mostly excited to just explore, relax, and see what the ship itself has to offer.
This trip also brings a couple of major firsts for us. We’re cruising with friends for the first time, and two close friends will be along for the ride. Sadly, another friend who planned to come had to bow out due to health reasons keeping him grounded; we’re wishing him a speedy recovery and will make up for it on a future trip.
The other big test? Breaking our cardinal rule and flying into port the morning of departure. Florida weather is currently calling for scattered storms, but our flight outlook looks clear so far. Fingers crossed the travel gods are kind.
I’ll share a recap of how NCL holds up—either mid-voyage or once we’re back home. Stay tuned!
